about

our story

Nearly 35 years ago, Sebian and her husband, Imer, opened the doors of Bari’s Pasta & Pizza in Flower Mound and brought a lifelong dream to life. Coming from a family of six siblings—each one devoted to the Italian restaurant craft—Sebian grew up surrounded by the aromas, traditions, and hospitality of true Italian cooking.

The couple’s journey to Texas began when Imer, while visiting family, fell in love with the Lone Star State. Inspired by its welcoming spirit, the Bardhi family left New York to begin their own chapter of the family’s restaurant legacy. With Sebian’s mother’s treasured recipes, years of hands-on experience, and guidance from her brother, respected Arlington restaurateur Moni Kaba, Bari’s officially opened its stand-alone location in 1987.

Though Imer passed away in 2021, his presence still guides the heart of the restaurant. Sebian continues to oversee the day-to-day operations with the same care and pride she’s carried since opening day. Each morning, she heads straight to the kitchen—checking sauces, adjusting flavors, and making sure every dish tastes exactly the way it should.

What Sebian loves most, however, is greeting the customers who have become like family. Bari’s menu is filled with beloved Italian classics—crispy fried calamari, hand-crafted pizzas, hearty strombolis, creamy tortellini alfredo, and so much more—all made with the same dedication that has kept guests coming back for decades.

Many customers have been regulars for nearly 35 years, and their loyalty means the world to Sebian and her family. “The people—I really love,” she often says. “They’ve supported me through all these years.”

It’s no surprise that when customers come in and don’t see her, they immediately ask, “Where’s Sebian?” Her warmth and presence are part of what makes Bari’s feel like home.

Today, Bari’s remains a true family restaurant, with Sebian’s son, daughter, niece, and cousin all proudly continuing the tradition. Together, they honor the past while serving the community that has embraced them from the very beginning.
